Founded in 1965, Swiss manufacturer and design house de Sede is renowned for its handcrafted leather furniture. Beginning as a saddler’s workshop, the company expanded rapidly under the joint-ownership and direction of engineer and designer Urs Felber. The de Sede name is synonymous with numerous iconic chair and sofa designs. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the company's DS600 sofa is the world's longest. The DS2100 Spine Chair was swivelled by James Bond himself in Casino Royale, while Santiago Calatrava's free floating DS150 chair epitomises the 1980s fascination with combining art and architecture.
