Ria Green is a Melbourne based artist who works across photography, painting, ceramics, glass and textiles. Her work explores ideas around wonderment, informed by the complex historical and cultural legacy of the sublime.
Green graduated with a Masters in Fine Art from RMIT in 2013. Green has exhibited nationally and internationally since 2009. Local galleries include Blindside Gallery, Seventh Gallery, the Counihan Gallery and Modern Times. Green’s work is held in both public and private collections including the State Library of Victoria.
Modern Times respectfully acknowledges the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation as the traditional custodians of the land on which we gather, share and celebrate local creative practice. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging, and acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders as the first people of Australia. They have never ceded sovereignty, and remain strong in their enduring connection to land and culture.
