Retail Showroom Manager

We are looking for a Retail Showroom Manager to join our dynamic Art and Design business. Passion for supporting your team, fostering a positive business culture, setting your team up to succeed, and leading by example is key to this exciting role.

You will need to be able to demonstrate:

  • 2 years previous store management experience in a likeminded business
  • A passion for training and developing your team
  • Leading by example
  • You are highly organised, focused, results driven and with an attention to detail
  • The ability to work flexibly within the business as needed and assist other team members in their roles
  • Clear and consistent communication skills when dealing with customers and the team
  • Previous experience working with budgets and KPIs
  • An understanding of visual merchandising principles

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the sales team in a unique and creative business
  • Fostering the MT culture of friendliness, respect and gratitude
  • Ensuring exceptional customer service is consistently provided to maintain the memorable Modern Times experience
  • Building, nurturing, and maintaining relationships with existing and new artists, designers, A & D clients
  • Using your style, creativity to ensure the look and feel of the showroom meets business guidelines
  • Managing the day-to-day running of the store as per business guidelines
  • Maintaining all communication and systems to the required standard
  • Training, supporting, and developing your team to work to the highest standard possible
  • Liaising with the rest of the Modern Times team to ensure the business is running smoothly
  • Working to budgets
  • Completing weekly and monthly reporting, reporting directly to the Operations Manager
  • Conducting monthly sales team meetings
  • Staff recruitment and training
  • Providing feedback on how we can continue to improve our business, brand, and customer experience

Digital & Social Media Content Coordinator

Make an impact with your skills in creating content while immersed in art and design as our Digital and Social Media Content Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for our online marketing content including our social media channels. Use your own creativity to express the brand voice of our retail gallery and design store, including our own exclusive brands.

  • Family business based in Smith Street, Fitzroy
  • Highly engaged audience, over 60k followers
  • Use your creativity to directly influence the brand expression

You will need to be able to demonstrate –

  • A strong marketing mindset
  • Ability to write engaging and effective copy including SEO skills
  • Possess excellent planning skills with the ability to prioritise workload
  • Proficiency in using WordPress, Woo Commerce and Campaign Monitor or similar
  • Previous experience in maintaining an e-commerce website for a likeminded business
  • Social media expertise including Instagram, FB, Pinterest and Facebook Business Manager
  • Analysing sales and performance data and reporting
  • Utilise analytics to inform content decisions including Google analytics
  • Basic Adobe Creative Suite skills
  • An appreciation of art and design
  • Ability to quickly form positive working relationships
  • Relevant degree preferred but not essential

Your responsibilities will include –

  • The management and roll out the marketing calendar
  • Develop and curate engaging content in the tone and voice of Modern Times
  • Work alongside the gallery curator and product team to coordinate relevant marketing and communications
  • Maintaining the Modern Times website ensuring it is always up to date with current products and all details are correct
  • Create and execute fortnightly EDMs
  • Execute a results-driven social media strategy
  • Review analytics and create reports on key metrics
  • Working with a WordPress / Woo Commerce / POS integrated system and being responsible for data integrity
  • PR and liaising with media
  • Conduct regular content reviews and employ data and customer insights to iterate and improve on existing content.
  • Analysing sales and performance data with weekly and monthly reporting
  • Strategic planning to improve sales
