About the work:
A Place Of Acceptance, Original Artwork By Sarah Kelk.
This piece is part of Radiant Dreams, a group exhibition showcasing the work of more than 50 artists from the Modern Times community. Radiant Dreams invited our artists to unleash their most vibrant work, embracing colour, movement and verve. The resulting works are a buoyant collection reflecting optimism, energy and hope as we emerge from the monotonous routine of lockdown.
”As an eternally optimistic person, my focus and outlook over the last few years has continued on this positive trajectory, despite the obviously sombre energy circling the world. I wanted to echo these contrasting feelings by exploring a harmonious tension in these new works. Slabs of colour, both dense and soft, float together weightlessly through space, feeling both grounded and vibrant at all once,” Kelk says.
About the Artist:
Sarah Kelk is a Melbourne based painter whose work is expressive, colourful and abstract. Energised blocks of colour are central to her work, and although traces of structure appear, references to decorative arts, patterns, architecture and nature are visible in a less ordered energy.
