About the work:
Cape Conran 1, Original Artwork by Silvi Glattauer.
Inspired by many visits to Cape Conran Coastal Reserve in Victoria, these seaweeds and coastal grasses were gathered by the artist and reinterpreted to create narratives and storyboards of time, place and fragility of the landscapes they come from.
Cyanotype printing is one of the oldest photographic printing processes, identified by its distinctive shade of cyan blue, which is a result of the chemical exposure to ultraviolet light. The technique was originally used by architects and engineers to reproduce technical drawings, before being adopted by photographers.
About the Artist:
A founding member of ‘The Baldessin Press and Studio’, Silvi Glattauer is a practicing photo-media artist who is recognised as an authority on the Photopolymer Photogravure process as well as working with a range of other photographic processes.
