This piece is part of Talismans, Rafts, Mementos: a group exhibition showcasing the work of the entire community of Modern Times artists. Throughout 2020 artists used their practice to make sense of what was happening, and this show celebrates this rich vein of creative output.

“Often, I am at ease when in the presence of colour. I squint my eyes to understand more and let the undefined shapes dance before me. There are no irrelevant thoughts here, no distractions, just letting things go,” says Rachel.

About the Artist:

Rachel Farlow’s practice explores the history of painting, popular culture and personal experiences, resulting in intimate abstract paintings. Small in scale, spontaneous gestures are paired with considered forms that never entirely reveal their referent. There is an openness to Rachel’s approach encompassing everything within her path.
