Amelia Dowling’s work explores concepts around vulnerability, memory, personal narrative, and the unconscious. The artist uses text and embroidery to investigate the intimate and public power that art holds to connect, protest, subvert, play, and heal. The result is a visual study of radical softness and resistance interwoven with grief and humour.
About the Artist:
Amelia Dowling is an Australian textile artist based in Melbourne. In 2007 she graduated with a Bachelor of Fashion Design and in 2013 completed a Master’s degree in Art History and Curatorial Studies.
