Sean McDowell is a German-born artist who is currently based in Melbourne, Australia. Working between sculpture, painting and installation, his practice explores the vast possibilities that emerge through an exploration of materiality and process.

Sean approaches his practice through the Modernist lexicon of sculpture and painting, which he articulates through his strong understanding of aesthetic principles. He has a particular interest in the ideas surrounding architecture, the field of abstraction and display, which he draws on to create explosive compositions that connect colour, texture and scale.
