About the work:
Ctrl+P36, Original Artwork by Ingmar Apinis.
This piece is part of Radiant Dreams, a group exhibition showcasing the work of more than 50 artists from the Modern Times community. Radiant Dreams invited our artists to unleash their most vibrant work, embracing colour, movement and verve. The resulting works are a buoyant collection reflecting optimism, energy and hope as we emerge from the monotonous routine of lockdown.
”My fauxfacts give shape to images that live on the internet. They lose their resolution and original meanings as they take physical form. What would happen to all this online culture if we lost access to the cloud? Can you imagine living through lockdown without access to your Netflix account?” Apinis says.
About the Artist:
Ingmar Apinis is a Melbourne based artist who uses paint as a medium to explore the role of the Internet in everyday life. He takes visual tropes from online and places them on canvas to critique online subcultures, digital queerness, and representations of the virtual and physical body.
