About the work:
House, Ceramic Vessel By Tessy King.
This piece is part of Radiant Dreams, a group exhibition showcasing the work of more than 50 artists from the Modern Times community. Radiant Dreams invited our artists to unleash their most vibrant work, embracing colour, movement and verve. The resulting works are a buoyant collection reflecting optimism, energy and hope as we emerge from the monotonous routine of lockdown.
”Over the last two years of strange, wild, slow and changing times I have really appreciated my arts practice as a means of maintaining stability, routine and pleasure in my life. This work is a loose reflection of how making ceramics has held me, comforted me and given me a space to feel at home,” King says.
About the Artist:
Tessy King is a ceramic artist currently based on the Bellarine Peninsula in Victoria. The vessel is the object central to her current work through which she examines the point of convergence of sculpture and domestic ware. Within her arts practice more broadly, Tessy considers how meaning is generated through the arrangement of objects and materials in larger installations and playful vignettes.
