Soliloquy, Original Painting by Diana Miller

About the work:

Soliloquy, Original Painting by Diana Miller.

This piece is part of Talismans, Rafts, Mementosa group exhibition showcasing the work of the entire community of Modern Times artists. Throughout 2020 artists used their practice to make sense of what was happening, and this show celebrates this rich vein of creative output.

“A soliloquy is an act of speaking one’s thoughts aloud when by oneself or regardless of any hearers, especially by a character in a play. During our time in lockdown we have very much been living each day in repeat, much like an actor, reciting his lines day after day,” says Diana.

About the Artist:

Diana Miller approaches painting by deconstructing and re-assembling images and focuses on shape-making through creating, breaking and re-forming elements. Her works are often founded in hours of paper cutting, box folding and collaging which is then reinterpreted and realised in paint.
