Untitled (Copperhania Ranges), Original Artwork by Thomas Thorby-Lister
This work was painted whilst Thomas Thorby-Lister was on residency in Cowra (Regional NSW). The work was created using satellite images and government data to map the nearby Copperhania Ranges. The unique ridge-lines and patterns of the ranges served as inspiration for the aerial landscape painting.
About the Artist:
Thorby-Lister has been a finalist in over fifteen art prizes and awards, including the Glover Prize 2021, Blacktown City Art Award 2021, Lethbridge Art Awards 2019/20, Redlands Art Award 2018 and the EMSLA Art Prize 2018. His work has been exhibited in group and solo exhibitions at various galleries across Australia. Thorby-Lister has been awarded several residencies and grants, including working with Corridor Projects (Cowra) in support of Create NSW and Regional Arts Funding, which led in being invited to exhibit at Orange Regional Gallery in 2022.
