Gita in Scaglione Alabaster with Base by Carol Crawford.
Carol Crawford is a sculptor based in Sydney. She is recognised for her organic interlocking feminine forms, realised in a variety of materials including alabaster, marble, soapstone, bronze and plaster.
This work was created in response to Modern Times’ exhibition Transcendence.
Carol says “Gita is quite an ephemeral being – a dream-like character – and as such transcends time and place. Her personality is very much guided by her environment – she yearns for brightness and light – and brings happiness in return!”
This event is part of Melbourne Design Week 2020, an initiative of the Victorian Government in collaboration with the NGV. Visit our showroom to view the exhibition from March 12 – 22.
