Alvar Aalto is one of Finland’s most celebrated architects and designers, and Chair 68, designed in 1935, is one of his most famed creations. Aalto designed this chair with functionality, simplicity, and longevity in mind. Highly desirable and hard to find today, the seat back is formed from three separate pieces, including a curved rail to support the back. The circular seat has a generous circumference and it also boasts the signature L-leg structure that allows the legs to be attached directly to the seat. Several of Aalto’s designs follow a similar form, but Chair 68 is distinguished by its thinner backrest. This piece would look great alongside a set of oak mid-century dining chairs for an eclectic dining setting, or it would also make a super cool desk chair as it’s comfortable and stylish. What’s more, they are stackable up to four chairs. Seat height is 435mm. We currently have two available – please enquire if you would like a pair!
