Bruno Mathsson was a self-taught designer and architect and his father, Karl, was a fourth generation cabinetmaker. Inspired by the functionalist movement, Mathsson’s furniture designs experimented with curves and height, and were driven by ergonomics and function.
His iconic Pernilla lounge chair is an incredible vintage piece. It was a design that evolved over many years and many iterations. The first version was designed in 1944 and this is an improved version designed for DUX in 1969 upholstered in brown leather. The continuous curves are stunning from every angle; this piece features a steam-bent beech frame, original upholstery and is complete with a footstool. It also features the headrest with adjustable straps. Overall, it’s a designer piece you’ll feel good about sinking into at the end of each day!
Footstool measures 400h 650w 450d.
