This is a daybed for the ages designed by Danish master of design, Hans Wegner for Getama. It’s a showstopper for many reasons; for one, it’s a more rare and larger design compared to his better-known GE6 daybed and has a few additional features that sets it apart. Similarly to the GE6, you can transform this sofa into a bed in seconds, however this piece features a unique system that allows you to pull the bed away from the frame using the subtle handles at the base, easily extending the sofa to the size of a double bed. What’s more, all of the timber used in this piece is oak – a rarity in large pieces like this – and the legs are a sled style design as opposed to a standard four-legged set up. This original spring mattress is in great condition, and is upholstered in its original oatmeal Kvadrat fabric which is very pleasing paired with oak. This is an incredibly versatile piece that doesn’t compromise on quality or appearance – your house guests will love you for it.
