Asperatus in Solid Bronze by Corbet.
An occasional table examining the delineation between art and furniture, the Asperatus Table’s playful waved form with flat plateaus holds a glass of wine or anything small requiring a flat surface. Drawing inspiration from growing up in Sydney’s Northern Beaches watching rolling waves and cloud formations, the form was built digitally before being 3d printed, sandcast in bronze and then finished by hand.
Exhibited at Melbourne Design Fair 2022.
About the Designer:
Ashley Corbett-Smith is a Sydney based designer. With a background in both fashion and photography, he settled into product design after studying industrial design in both Sydney and the Netherlands. His aesthetic stems from a reductionistic point of view, attempting to create simple and honest objects, celebrating both form and materials in a playful way.
