Rectangular Coffee Table by Paul Kingma in Stone, Slate and Brass, 1970s, The Netherlands

Paul Kingma was a Dutch artist renowned for his Brutalist-style coffee tables made between the 1960s – 80s. All of his tables incorporate pieces of exotic stones, concrete, slate, brass, bronze, fossils, foraged materials and more – gathered by Kingma during his trips around the world. Each piece is unique and the tables from this collection – known as the Kingma or Tableaux Series – are highly sought-after today.

This particular piece sits low to the ground and is made from stone, slate and brass. It features a thick slate top with a circular brass detail in the centre, as well as various inlay detailing across the top, typical of a Kingma table and a beautiful realisation of his work. A highly unique and intriguing focal point to add depth to any room.
