This piece is part of Talismans, Rafts, Mementos: a group exhibition showcasing the work of the entire community of Modern Times artists. Throughout 2020 artists used their practice to make sense of what was happening, and this show celebrates this rich vein of creative output.

“Unable to think about firing and glazing, my attention remained focused on the form of each piece. My small home studio was a place of refuge from the disarray of the world, and the loneliness and frustration experienced through our collective isolation,” says Georgina.

About the Artist:

Georgina Proud is a ceramic artist working from a shared studio space in Heidelberg West. She enjoys playing with the tension between the functional and sculptural, making work that blurs the lines between the two. Her works are part of an ongoing investigation of the relationship between form, clay and firing. She focuses on the processes of assemblage and composition, of experimentation and creative play.
