Starfighter Bubble Sculpture in Mid Fire Ceramic by Kirsten Perry.

Kirsten Perry is a Melbourne based ceramic artist with a background in Fine Art (Gold and Silversmithing), Industrial Design and Multimedia.

A self-taught ceramicist, she predominately slip casts mid-fired functional and non-functional vessels that pay homage to traditional ceramics. The biomorphic objects are initially carved from disposable materials such as foam and cardboard, then translated into ceramics.

Often exaggerating imperfection, Kirsten is attracted to flaws and vulnerabilities. The objects have an usual beauty and are what she imagines to be some sort of living organism from a planet far away.
