Kokro Earrings in 18k Gold Plated Sterling Silver by A’Sika.
The Kokro earring is inspired by coastal villages along the West African coastlines which are being swallowed up due to rising sea levels. The textures of the earring resemble the sand which submerges these villages.
A’Sika was created in 2018 by Melbourne based designer Ella Badu. Her journey started in Ghana while exploring the country’s rich cultural history and artisanal workmanship. Inspired by traditional spirituality, regalia and the beauty in African symbolism, she brought her vision back home and started handcrafting jewellery with a story to tell.
Where possible, materials are sourced locally and created with primarily recycled or reclaimed precious metals.
