Turrin’s work ranges from utilitarian pieces to unique vessels and sculptural pieces. Turrin’s practice involves slip casting, hand building and surface manipulation. With coil building the predominant technique used.

Joseph Turrin is based in Sydney, Australia. His work traverses his interest in the history of ceramics, textiles and nature. Turrin’s approach to making is playful in manner with clay coil-building the predominant technique used. His current work is highly textured highlighting the use of the hand with every finger impression highly visible through the creation of a scale like texture.
