About the work:
Rhythms of Being, Ceramic Sculpture by Bree Cribbin.
This piece is part of Talismans, Rafts, Mementos: a group exhibition showcasing the work of the entire community of Modern Times artists. Throughout 2020 artists used their practice to make sense of what was happening, and this show celebrates this rich vein of creative output.
“These pieces were created to find connection, intimacy, and tactility in the face of struggle and uncertainty. A collaboration began with Godriguez from Godtet at the beginning of COVID where he would send sounds and I would respond with clay forms. We had never physically met and we started to form a connection and sound,” says Bree.
About the Artist:
Bree Cribbin is an Interdisciplinary Artist working with clay, sculpture and installations. Bree worked in the healing arts for over a decade until she embarked on a solo trip around the world and connected with clay in Vietnam. She lived in pottery villages throughout Asia and became interested in the way clay helps people connect with one another and ourselves.
