About the Artist:
Joana Partyka is a ceramic artist and political staffer based in Boorloo (Perth), WA. Working out of her home studio, Partyka primarily uses a coil-building technique and fires each piece up to six times to achieve the desired glaze effect. Her work is deeply informed by the political context and pushes the boundaries of the ceramic medium, which she has been practising for a few years.
